Kevin Davis (18) kills his mother Kimberly Hill then rapes her body

On March 27, Davis attacked his mother by attempting to strangle her with an electrical cord. When Hill screamed, Davis retrieved a hammer and struck her head around 20 times. Psychiatrist Dr. Joel Kutnik, who interviewed Davis, testified at court what Davis had told him: “He used a hammer to kill his mother, and of course the skull split open. He wanted to make certain that she was dead. He stuck his hand in the skull and mixed up the brains, then I think he told me he got a knife and mixed ‘em up. Then he also said that it felt like putty. The consistency of the brain tissue. And then he said something about [how] he tasted the brain.”

Davis then raped Hill’s body. When he later described the crime, he told detectives, “Guess I lost my virginity to a dead corpse.”

According to Davis, he initially planned to kill and rape his sister as well but decided against it, later recounting, “I had my fill of killing. It seemed a little much.” Davis then went to a nearby home to ask to use their phone to turn himself in to police.

Davis was asked what Hill may have done to have been attacked, to which Davis replied, “Absolutely nothing. I’m just a terrible, disgusting person.” When asked if he regretted his actions, he responded, “In a way, yes, but I wouldn’t take back what I did. I did love her in a way.” And when asked if he believed he had an undiagnosed mental illness, he answered, “I’m not mentally disturbed. I’m sane. I know what I did.” Medical experts agreed with Davis, with one doctor testifying Davis likely had a personality disorder but understood right from wrong.

In October 2014, Davis pleaded guilty to his mother’s murder. The jury took less than an hour to deliberate on his sentence, returning with a recommendation of life imprisonment. Davis will be eligible for parole in 2044.
