Bermuda Triangle
A group of five torpedo bombers known collectively as Flight 19 disappear without a trace
The bombers were returning from a navigation training flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida when United States Navy Lieutenant Charles Carroll Taylor informed base his compasses were not functional and he did not know his location. Taylor led the group further out to sea and eventually lost radio contact with the base. A rescue team was sent to try to locate Flight 19, though this team was lost as well. The 14 crew members of Flight 19 and the 13 rescue team members were never heard from again. Curiously, no debris, bodies, or signs of a crash could be found during a search and rescue, adding an air of mystery to the incident.
The story of Flight 19 is one of the most famous of the Bermuda Triangle disappearances.
