A man kills himself by decapitation during a public suicide
Witnesses saw the man write the phrases “no codigo” (“no code” in Spanish) and “CODBO” on the side of his van in what is considered to be a suicide note before typing a rope around a fire hydrant and his neck and speeding away. The act resulted in the man’s head being severed and reportedly landing in the street. After the suicide, the van continued rolling down the street before losing momentum; no one else was injured. The Daily Mail reported a Dallas Police spokesperson identified the victim as 35-year-old Hugo Rodriguez.
Some have theorized the suicide note relates to the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops due to the “CODBO” written on the van, though this observation seems to be nothing more than speculation.
