Crime journalist Vlado Taneski is arrested as a suspected serial killer
Taneski had been a journalist for 20 years and covered many crimes, including the murders of local women. Police became suspicious when the articles about the murders contained information not released to the public. Also, DNA collected from semen left on the victims was a match for Taneski. He was arrested for the murders of three women, ages 56 to 65 murdered from 2005 to 2008, and was suspected in the 2003 disappearance of a 78-year-old woman. All victims knew Taneski’s mother personally.
The day after his arrest, Taneski was found dead in his cell, having drowned in a bucket of water. His death was ruled a suicide.
