Jimmy Glass
June 12, 1987

“Yeah, I think I’d rather be fishing.”

Glass was executed at the age of 25 for the murders of Newton and Erlene Brown. The Browns were shot in their bed the night of Christmas Eve in 1982; their children discovered their bodies on Christmas morning.

Glass petitioned the Supreme Court calling execution by electrocution a violation of Constitutional rights against cruel and unusual punishment, but the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in favor of upholding the authorization of electrocution as a legal execution method.
