A man attempting to resist assistance throws pieces of his flesh and intestine at police
Wayne Carter (43) had locked himself in a room in his home and threatened harm against himself. Police were alerted when he was observed cutting himself with a 12” kitchen knife.
According to WNBC, after police kicked in the door, Carter began to stab himself in the abdomen, neck, and legs. Officers pepper-sprayed Carter to subdue him, but it had no effect. He then began throwing pieces of his body at the officers. In total, Carter stabbed himself over 40 times.
Carter was eventually restrained with the assistance of SWAT and taken to a hospital for treatment. The scene was so bloody, a SWAT member had to be decontaminated, Fox News reported.
According to Lt. John Heinemann, no charges were filed.
