Bahr El-Baqar, Egypt
The Israeli Air Force bombs Bahr el-Baqar primary school, killing 46 children and injuring over 50
The attack is considered human error, with the Israeli military stating they thought the building was a military base. Israeli Minister of Defense Moshe Dayan later commented on the bombing, “Maybe the Egyptians put elementary students in a military base.”
The destruction of the school heavily contributed to Israeli forces suspending deep strike attacks on the area.
