Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappears

The plane disappeared while flying between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport. Less than an hour after departing, voice contact was lost between air traffic controllers and the plane. Shortly after it disappeared from radar screens, though it was spotted by Malaysian military radar for a short time.

Despite an ongoing international search (the 239 missing people aboard the plane represented 15 countries), only a piece of a wing has been found. Currently, submarine drones are being used to search for any trace of the plane and possibly determine what went wrong with the ill-fated flight.
