A truck bomb explodes under the North Tower of the World Trade Center, killing 6 and injuring 1,042
A group of fundamentalist Islamic terrorists planned for a truck filled with 1,336 pounds of urea nitrate-hydrogen gas to the detonate under the North Tower of the World Trade Center, with the intent of making the North Tower crash into the South Tower, killing tens of thousands of people. Though it failed to reach the amount of destruction the attackers hoped for, 6 were still killed and over 1,000 injured. The terrorists claimed the reason for the attack was due to the U.S. foreign policy and support of Israel.
