The body of Florence Polillo, the third victim of the Cleveland Torso Murderer, is found
The Cleveland Torso Murderer was a serial killer with 12 known victims and another 8 suspected victims between 1935-1938. Polillo was the second and last victim to be positively identified and the third known victim. Half of her body was discovered on January 26, nearly wrapped in newspaper, while the other half (minus the head) was found February 7. It was determined her cause of death was from decapitation, though for reasons unknown the murderer waited days before dismembering the rest of her body. Polillo’s head was never recovered.
