The flu claims 700 victims in 7 days

The Influenza (sometimes also called The Grip) epidemic depicted in this article was only a small portion of the whole pandemic; it reached across the entire globe and during its reign from 1889-1890 (there were a few brief reoccurrences during the next 4 years) over 1 million people died worldwide. The first flu vaccine was developed in 1938, almost 50 years later.
