Famous Last Words
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson
(Pen name Lewis Carroll)
Guildford, Surrey, England
January 14, 1898
“Take away those pillows. I shall need them no more.”
Carroll was the accomplished author behind Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking-Glass, The Jabberwocky, and more. He died at the age of 65 from pneumonia following the flu. His Famous Last Words were probably not his true last words, but they were said the last day of his life and have been generally accepted to be his final statement.
