Clipping: man shoots woman, self when marriage proposal is rejected

William Wasco was executed for murdering a woman for refusing to marry him before turning the gun on himself in a failed attempt at suicide. His last words were reportedly “Good-by, people. I gladly give my life for my sweetheart. I loved her.”
