Pedro Hernandez-Alberto kills two of his stepdaughters following an argument with his wife
Hernandez-Alberto had married Maria Gonzalez after she had purchased a house and restaurant. The two had had a long-going argument with Hernandez-Alberto requesting his name be put on the title for the buildings, and entered into another such argument on January 3. Gonzalez then went to the restaurant to work.
Afterwards, Hernandez-Alberto told his 11-year-old stepdaughter, Donna Berezovsky, to pick up a toy from the floor. When she refused, he struck her head which threw her to the floor. He then drew a pistol from a fanny pack and shot her in the back, killing her. Hernandez-Alberto then drove to the family restaurant where Gonzalez and her adult daughter Isela Gonzalez were working and shot Isela in the lower back, upper back, and neck. He fled towards Mexico but was apprehended in Texas and confessed to the murders. He was convicted and sentenced to death in 2002.
