Karl Knapp kills his former girlfriend, her boss, and an employee of another business before shooting himself
Knapp, an alleged alcoholic and meth user, had been abusive towards his girlfriend, Jane Johnson. Johnson had recently left Knapp due to his violent temper. Armed with a 9mm, Knapp visited Johnson’s place of employment, shot her boss Steve Goodwin, chased after Johnson as she fled to a nearby business, then shot her and Greg Maguire as Maguire held the door open for Johnson.
Knapp then barricaded himself in a pawn shop and shot himself in the abdomen; he survived the wound. Knapp was sentenced to 76 years on August 13, 2004.
