From the Public Ledger (Philadelphia, PA)
Published December 22, 1841
A glimpse into the life of those living in Philadelphia in 1841, illustrated by three classifieds placed with various concerns:
– a mule found itself at an inn. The mule’s owner was requested to pick the animal up and pay any fees it incurred.
– a mentally unstable man, lost since October 6, was sought. I found the same classified running until January 1842.
– a pet albino raccoon escaped from its owners who weighed it returned to them unharmed.
