Famous Last Words
Thomas Edison
West Orange, New Jersey
October 18, 1931

“It’s very beautiful over there!”

Edison is known as a great inventor, bringing many electric devices to the public. Though those are not his actual Last Words (they were said several days before his death), they are the most memorable ones he spoke in the days leading to his death and are often credited to be his last. Reportedly, a test tube containing Edison’s last breath is located in The Henry Ford museum, obtained by Ford himself who requested Edison’s son Charles to capture the breath as a keepsake.
