Ex-con crucified

From the Santa Ana Register (Santa Ana, California)
Published August 27, 1938

An ex-con was found crucified to a cross which he was forced to assemble. A sheriff involved in the case believed the victim was hiding something and offered several theories as to why the man was nailed to the cross, one of which was the possibility he was hoping the publicity from the event would assist him in finding a job.
